A week of lovely spring weather

SUMMARY

Our lovely stretch of spring weather continues with minor variations this week. The following week should start out much the same, but see a better chance of showers and storms by week’s end. Details follow.

FORECAST DISCUSSION

Foreca’ temperatures still seem a little low in places. So use my numbers instead. Trend shows a small increase in temperatures through Friday, then cooler weather for the weekend with highs back down into the 70s and lows in the 50s. Unfortunately, Saturday morning’s cold front will come through dry with no clouds or rain. The only chance of scattered, light showers is Wednesday afternoon and evening — mainly in the Bogalusa - Necaise - Gulfport-Biloxi areas. Otherwise, fine spring weather with plenty of sunshine. Enjoy!

LONG-RANGE RAMBLINGS

For Tuesday March 31, expect partly sunny skies with highs near 80. Scattered light afternoon showers could come in for Wed. April 1 and Thursday April 2 — more likely in Louisiana than Coastal Mississippi. Then, more widespread showers and thunderstorms for sometime in the period April 3-5. If we’re lucky, we could see several rounds during these days. Highs will mainly be upper 70s to low 80s with lows in the 60s. Cooler air won’t arrive until April 6 at the earliest.

After a dry winter, we need to get rain in here for April before the traditionally dry period from mid May - mid June.

NOTE ON POSTING
