Fog Tonight? Beautiful Weekend
Scattered Light Showers Tomorrow AM; then Dry until further notice

SUMMARY
Slidell and New Orleans East finally got in on some showers this afternoon. But the bad news is that the wet ground and light southerly winds mean a good chance of patchy fog later tonight, especially in these areas plus the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This might take half the night to form on the coast since winds are a little too high right now, but they will be coming down. A quick check of the radar shows that those showers have dissipated, but the lines associated with a weak cold front extend along and west of the Mississippi west of Baton Rouge. These thin out on the southern end and be slowly coming our way in the morning to mid-day hours, but will be scattered with light amounts - probably just a few hundredths or a few tenths.

After the weak cold front, clouds will thin out and give way to a sunny day on Thursday with a bit less humidity. Lows will get down into the upper 50s on the Northshore with highs still near 80. But a reinforcing cold front will come through Thursday night (see below) giving us a noticeably cooler weekend. There should be no showers with this system.

FORECAST DISCUSSION
The Foreca graphic highlights the drop in temperatures for the weekend along with the long stretch of sunny weather. Enjoy! However, you might want to walk around your yard and see if any of your shrubs start talking to you like an old Dean Martin movie (“I need a drink”).
LONG-RANGE RAMBLINGS
I promise - we will get an active storm track in the Deep South along with some signs of winter. It’s just that I don’t see it happening in the first half of November as the jet stream stays bottled up in the Northern Tier of states. This beautiful weather will continue all of next week with very slow moderating temperatures. Highs mid 70s lows mid-upper 50s.
LOUIS ARMSTRONG AIRPORT

Foreca graphic is not much different except for the nighttime lows.
