Frosty 'Morn (?) then Fine Weekend

Plus Early Season Hurricane Outlook

SUMMARY FOR THURSDAY MARCH 20

Welcome to Spring, but with weather that feels like Phoenix: Bone dry chilly mornings and warm afternoons.

They big question is whether you’ll see a light frost tomorrow (Friday) morning. With crystal clear skies and calm winds after midnight (rare for March), temperatures in rural areas of the Northshore will plummet to about 36 to 37 - that’s enough for scattered frost in the normally cold spots. So if your temperatures compare favorably to the airport in Slidell, put a towel or a piece of plastic over them tonight. For those us in more densely populated suburban areas, lows will stop closer to 40.

FORECAST DISCUSSION

Here’s my key points:

1) Friday morning will see big temperature differences between rural low areas near farm ponds, creeks, or rivers where lows could be 36 and the more densely populated suburban areas that will hold heat where lows could stop at 43. Southshore will be even warmer.

2) Watch out for fog on Saturday morning - not in the Foreca graphic.

3) Weekend will be fantastic with plenty of sun and highs in upper 70s with low humidity.

4) Next rain system coming in early Monday with showers and thunderstorms during the morning. Half-inch to three quarters inch seems reasonable.

5) Then another lovely week with the next chance of rain during the weekend of March 29 and 30.

LONG-RANGE RAMBLINGS

Again….I’m expecting a lot of April highs to stop in the 70s — not good news if you’re hoping to jump in that backyard pool or take a trip to the beach, but good news if you want a more prolonged spring. Rainfall will be spotty, but will it be enough to keep us from watering? A lot will depend on how much rain you get this Monday and next weekend.

INSURANCE TOO HIGH? WONDERING ABOUT HURRICANE SEASON

Homeowners insurance is always a lively topic at my weekly men’s group where our experience has led us to several ways we can save serious money. The result: This free report containing three different strategies to slash insurance. To accompany this, I’ve written a few of my “way to early” ideas on the upcoming hurricane season.

There’s only one way to get these: Refer someone else to this newsletter by passing along this link or entering their email (and letting them know). When they respond by agreeing you’re sent these reports. PS - You can have your wife, husband, or other relative sign up and my brain-dead software doesn’t care. Just call this refer-madness.
