Showers most likely: Tues, late Fri-Sun

SUMMARY
This will be a short one courtesy of a ton of beach traffic that kept me from posting this earlier.
The July 4th heatwave ended today with some strong storms in most of Louisiana’s Northshore. The cause: An upper level wave that is moving through tonight and should result much less rainfall tomorrow. Another wave should bring a noticeably wetter Tuesday. Then, fewer showers for Wednesday through most of Friday before a wet period from Friday evening through the weekend.

FORECAST DISCUSSION
I’ve had to adjust the highs upward, as usual, for the Foreca graphic. Monday’s rainfall looks overdone. About 40% of Southeast LA and Coastal MS should see showers tomorrow with the most likely locations the Southshore, Tangipahoa Parish, and a thin strip just north of the I-10/12 corridor on the Northshore and Coastal MS. Amounts should be light.
Tuesday looks like the wet one with widespread showers and storms starting by the late morning hours. Then, the graphic correctly shows less rainfall from Wednesday through Friday afternoon with only widely scattered showers. Storms should pick up as early as late Friday and unfortunately continue through the weekend.
LONG-RANGE RAMBLINGS
Expect the following week, July 13-19 to feature plenty of rainfall opportunities which should translate into lower high temperatures. Then, models forecast a much drier week beginning July 20.
Still, nothing in the tropics, nor am I expecting anything for the next ten days.
ALABAMA & NW FL BEACHES

The area will have to be more concerned about scattered showers and storms tomorrow and especially Tuesday. The, like Louisiana and Mississippi, nice weather should prevail Wednesday - Friday. Storms will pick up there starting next Saturday.
